Why?

ISA relies solely on these funds to allocate scholarships each year. Scholarship awards benefit the whole school community because each additional enrolled child contributes to a strong student base, resulting in improved programming and infrastructure. In addition, each child uniquely contributes to the rich social and cultural invironment which ISA actively seeks to create.

How?

The State of Arizona allows Arizona tax payers to take a tax credit for contributions they make to State Tuition Organizations, such as the Arizona Scholarship Fund. If you are eligible, every dollar you contribute is given back to you in the form of a reduction in your Arizona tax liability.

How Much?

Married couples filing jointly can contribute up to $1000, single filers up to $500, and will receive a dollar for dollar tax credit for that amount. Our goal is for 100% participation, so a contribution of any amount is helpful.

When?

Contributions can be made any time during the year, however you need to make your contribution by December 31 in order to claim your tax credit for the same calendar year.

Who can receive scholarship funds?

By law, funds from this program can only be used for tuition for students in grades K-12. Funds are only disbursed once a scholarship recipient and amount have been identified and the student's parents have completed all the necessary paperwork required by the Arizona Scholarship Fund and the State of Arizona.

How are Scholarships Awarded?

Each spring the ISA School Board decides how the scholarship funds will be distributed based on the amount of contributions from the previous year-end. Historically, two types of scholarships have been awarded: $400 Reenrollment scholarships for all eligible K-5 students, and Upper-Grade Financial Need Scholarships which try to retain or attract students in grades 1-5. There are no 100% scholarship awards.
