Ada Aguayo
Teacher: Spanish Section B
(Elementary Campus)

Ms. Aguayo is a native Spanish speaker from Cuba. She has a masters degree in educational administration from Pepperdine University and a bachelor's degree in liberal studies with a bilingual/bicultural emphasis from California State University Long Beach. Ms. Aguayo is a highly qualified teacher in the State of Arizona and has both SEI and ELL endorsements. She specializes in bilingual education and has several years experience working with Preschool and Elementary school children. Ms. Aguayo started at ISA in 2012.

Sofia Alvarez

Mrs. Alvarez is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico. She speaks English and Spanish and has four years of childcare experience. Mrs. Alvarez started at ISA in 2009.

 

 

 

Fabiana Arce
Teacher: Spanish Section B

Mrs. Arce is a native Spanish speaker from Venezuela. She has a bachelor's degree from Caracas, Venezula and has taken early childhood development classes from Rio Salado College in Phoenix. Mrs. Arce has 9 years of previous teaching experience working with ages 3 and 4. She loves to integrate creativity and art into her everyday teaching.

Maria Clemente

Mrs. Clemente is a native Spanish speaker from Spain. She speaks English and Spanish and has had nine years of childcare experience. Mrs. Clemente started at ISA in 2008.

 

Susana D'Ruiz

Mrs. D’Ruiz is a native Spanish speaker from Cuba. She has a bachelor of arts in psychology/personnel management from Aldelphi University in Garden City, NY and has 5 and 1/2 years of teaching experience. Mrs. D'Ruiz

Lupita Denholm

Mrs. Denholm is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico. She speaks English and Spanish and has had ten years of childcare experience. Mrs. Denholm started at ISA in 2010.

 

Irene Gomez Camarasa
Teacher: Spanish 3rd Grade
(Elementary Campus)

Ms. Gomez is from Albacete, Spain and recived her training at the University de Castilla La Mancha, Spain. She speaks Spanish and English and taught preschool and elementary school in several towns in Spain for fourteen years from 1997 until she came to ISAZ in 2011.

Luz Maria Mejia

Mrs. Mejia is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico. She speaks English and Spanish and has had five years of childcare experience. Mrs. Mejia started at ISA in 2010.

 

Purificacion Marquez Villa
Teacher: Spanish Kindergarten
(Elementary Campus)

Ms. Marquez is from Laguna de Duero, Spain and has a bachelor of arts in childhood education from the University of Valladolid, Spain and a bachelor of arts in foreign language (English) from the University of Salamanca, Spain. Puri has taught children ages 3-6 years old.

 

Maria Mercedes Villamizar
Spanish Department Chair
Teacher: Spanish 1st Grade

Ms Villamizar leads the ISA Spanish track teaching staff and has seventeen years of teaching experience in both preschool and elementary school.  She has a bachelor of arts in education from the University of Javeriana, Bogota, Colombia and is a certified elementary teacher through the Colombian Ministry of Education.  She received training in learning disabilities from the University of Norte, Barranquilla, Colombia and completed a Language and Culture training in Spain during the summer 2010 through the Spanish Ministry of Education.  Ms Villamizar worked as a preschool coordinator at the Santa Marta Bilingual School in Santa Marta, Colombia prior to coming to ISA in 2009.  She has taught kindergarten, first, second and third grades.

 

Tere Nava

Mrs. Carranza is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico.  She speaks Spanish and English and started at ISA in 2012.

 

Tamara Padrino Moreno
Teacher: Spanish 2nd Grade

Ms. Padrino is from Madrid, Spain and has baccalaureate degrees in elementary education and in English as a second language both from Universidad Villanueva (U. Complutense de Madrid). She speaks Spanish and English and has worked with special needs children and taught grades 1, 2, and 3 for three years before coming to ISAZ.

 

Rosa Munoz

Ms. Munoz is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico.  She speaks English and Spanish and has several years of childcare experience.  Ms. Munoz started at ISA in 2011.

 

Pilar Peralta
Teaching Assistant:
Spanish Section A
(Preschool Campus)

Mrs. Peralta is a native Spanish speaker from Spain. She has a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Valencia University, Spain and completed two years as a Ph.D. student. Mrs. Peralta has four years of teaching experience in various elementary schools in Spain and the U.S. as a computer lab teacher, Spanish teacher, biology teacher, yoga instructor and general science teacher. She started at ISA in 2012.

 

Alicia Smith
Floating Assistant

Mrs. Smith is a native Spanish and French speaker.  She grew up in France and Spain.  Mrs. Smith started at ISA in 2012.

 

Myra Yeomans

Mrs. Yeomans is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico. She speaks English and Spanish, has a Child Development Associate Degree and has had over fourteen years of childcare experience. Mrs. Yeomans started at ISA in 2010.
