Teresa Zacher
Teacher: Spanish Section A

Tere is from San Luis Potosi, Mexico and has an MA in Psychology from Argosy University, an MA in Education from the Universidad del Golfo, Mexico, a BA in Communications from ITESM, Mexico, and a BA in French from ITESM, Mexico. She speaks Spanish, French, ASL and English.

Luz Maria Mejia
Teaching Assistant: Spanish Section A

Luz Mejia is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico. She speaks English and Spanish and has had five years of childcare experience. Mrs. Mejia started at ISA in 2010.

 

Sofia Alvarez
Teaching Assistant: Spanish Section A

Sofia Alvarez is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico. She speaks English and Spanish and has four years of childcare experience. Mrs. Alvarez started at ISA in 2009.

Purificacion Marquez Villa
Teacher: Spanish Section B

Puri is from Laguna de Duero, Spain and has a BA in Childhood Education from the University of Valladolid, Spain and a BA in Foreign Language (English) from the University of Salamanca, Spain. Puri has taught children ages 3-6 years old.

 

Myra Yoemans
Teaching Assistant: Spanish Section B

Myra Yeomans is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico. She speaks English and Spanish and has had fourteen years of childcare experience. Mrs. Yeomans started at ISA in 2010.

Irene Gomez Camarasa
Teacher: Spanish Pre-K

Irene is from Albacete, Spain and recived her training at the University de Castilla La Mancha, Spain. Shespeaks Spanish and English and taught preschool and elementary school in several towns in Spain for fourteen years from 1997 until she came to ISAZ in 2011. 

 

Maria Clemente
Teaching Assistant: Spanish Pre-K

Maria Clemente is a native Spanish speaker from Spain. She speaks English and Spanish and has had nine years of childcare experience. Mrs. Clemente started at ISA in 2008.

 

Nieves Bermudez-Lopez
Teacher: Spanish Kindergarten

Nieves is from Caracas, Venezuela and received a Certificate III in children’s servicesat the Southwestern Sydney Institute of TAFE, New South Wales, Australia. She also has a BA in Marketing. Nieves speaks SPanish and English and worked with children ages 1-5 in the Campbell town Sidney city council preschools for one year as an assistant. She also taught 3-5-year-olds for one year with a tutoring company in Phoenix and has taught 3-year-olds and Kindergarten at ISA.

 

Lupita Denholm
Teaching Assistant: Spanish Kindergarten

Lupita Denholm is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico. She speaks English and Spanish and has had ten years of childcare experience. Mrs. Denholm started at ISA in 2010.

 

 

Maria Mercedes Villamizar
Spanish Department Chair
Teacher: Spanish 1st Grade

Ms Villamizar leads the ISA Spanish track teaching staff and has seventeen years of teaching experience in both preschool and elementary school.  She has a BA in education from the University of Javeriana, Bogota, Colombia and is a certified elementary teacher through the Colombian Ministry of Education.  She received training in learning disabilities from the University of Norte, Barranquilla, Colombia and completed a Language and Culture training in Spain during the summer 2010 through the Spanish Ministry of Education.  Ms Villamizar worked as a preschool coordinator at the Santa Marta Bilingual School in Santa Marta, Colombia prior to coming to ISA in 2009.  She has taught kindergarten, first, second and third grades.

 

Tamara Podrino Moreno
Teacher: Spanish 2nd Grade

Tamara is from Madrid, Spain and has a Baccalaureate degree in elementary education from Universidad Villanueva (U. Complutense de Madrid) and a Baccalaureate degree in English as a second language from Universidad Villanueva (U. Complutense de Madrid). She speaks Spanish and English and has worked with special needs children and taught grades 1, 2, and 3 for three years before coming to ISAZ.
