Field trip to Scottsdale Art Gallery

On Friday, March 9th, the second and third grade classes enjoyed a field trip to the Joan Cawley Gallery in Scottsdale. The gallery specializes in southwestern art and the students were able to view works from many contemporary native american artists. Their guide Marilyn spoke of the importance of color and landscape, and told about the legends and stories surrounding the works. The children also got to touch some of the totems and leather materials.
