Private School Tax Credit

Available for Students in Kindergarten through Middle School

Arizona's Private School Tax Credit allows individuals to claim a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for making a donation to a Student Tuition Organization, in the amount contributed up to the maximum allowable each year.  Donors recommend that funds are to benefit the International School of Arizona Scholarship Program, and may chose to name an individual student.

Student Tuition Organizations governed by the Arizona Department of Revenue and are certified to be in compliance with the Private School Tax Credit state statute requirements to ensure all donations are properly managed.  Student Tuition Organizations are tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue, which means all donations may be included on Federal Tax returns under itemized charitable deductions.   Please consult your tax preparer for more information and benefits of participating in the Private School Tax Credit.

The International School of Arizona Scholarship Program works closely with Student Tuition Organizations and follows strict guidelines regarding the use of all scholarships.   The International School of Arizona is notified when scholarships are available for a student.   Funds are then transferred to the International School of Arizona and are used exclusively for the student's tuition obligation.

Determine the amount you are able to donate. For 2016, maximum allowable donation for the Private School Tax Credit for Single is $1,087, and Married Filing Jointly is $2,173.  The donation is divided by the Student Tuition Organization for Original 323 and Switcher Scholarships.  Students must be eligible for both to receive the maximum amount.
